I’m Paula Mitchell. An RN by education but a designer at heart, I chose to switch careers after spending decades of designing remodels, additions and kitchen renovations for myself and friends… I just couldn’t see any space without seeing the potential of what it could be.
After working full time as a Clinical Research RN for 20 years, I was recruited for a part time position at Home Depot by an employee who convinced me to apply for kitchen designer position available after seeing a personal project I was remodeling. I worked as a full time nurse and part time designer for 2 years before committing to becoming full time designer 3 years ago.
My favorite projects are remodels; taking a tired or non-functioning space and bringing it back to life, fresh, new and functional. I also love working on newly built homes to help customers create spaces in them that are personal to their lifestyle and meet their family’s definition of what “home” should be.
I enjoy working on all decorative styles from rustic to modern (including mixing the two!) and am experienced designing framed and frameless cabinetry and custom designs. I especially love the process that helps customers who have no idea where to begin, evolve to realizing their own personal style and seeing their vision come to fruition.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time taking hikes in the Bitterroot with my pup, working on my own “fixer-upper” projects, and spending time with my family.
